The Australian Dealer Pack (ADP) was introduced in the period between the end of the VC HDT and prior to the main model in the VH Series. The HDT Dealer's were screaming for cars after the end of the VC and it was still some time until the base model cars were ready for the new range of HDT vehicles. In addition, several non HDT Dealer's wanted something they could also sell.

The cars were based on anything from the SL, right through to the top of the range SL/E variant and had either the 4.2 or 5 litre V8's and both manual or automatic transmissions. Available in any Holden colour, buyers could also option them up with VC style flares, Stratos seats, 16 inch Centra road wheels and more.

In addition, HDT had built a few Jackaroo's in this period also. The 1000th car built by HDT Special Vehicles was a black SL/E ADP, referred to as the "Carringbush Special".

Engine: Option1: 4.2 Litre/253 Cubic Inch Pushrod V8. 9.2:1 Compression Ratio with 92.075mm Bore and 77.775mm stroke. Max Power 100kW @ 4200rpm and 269Nm @ 2000rpm.
Option 2: (High Output) 4.2 Litre/253 Cubic Inch Pushrod V8. 9.2:1 Compression Ratio with 92.075mm Bore and 77.775mm stroke. Max Power 152.9kw
Option 3: 308 Cubic Inch Pushrod V8 (4.2L engine was also available). 9.2:1 Compression Ratio with 101.6mm Bore and 77.8mm stroke. Max Power 184kw @ 4750rpm and 418Nm of Torque @ 3500rpm.
Induction: 4 barrel Rochester Carbuerettor and port matched inlet manifold. HDT cold air induction system with chrome air cleaner lid.
