VX Aero Signature


The VX Aero was available for the entire range of VX Commodores. Starting with a Dealer or Private VX, HDT set to work enhancing the vehicle. A tilt-and-slide glass sunroof was there for the taking along with the two tone red and gray leather seats with matching door pockets, colour coded facia panels, body kit and the Milano Alloy wheels. Before the launch of the Aero HDT built a promotional vehicle based on the VT sedan. This came with all the enhanced goodies but ran the earlier 5.0 litre motor. The Aero featured an all new bodykit design by Len Pennisi and was available in four engine options as listed below.

Stage 1: Max power: 255 kW, Redline / Cutout: 5500RPM with HDT washable high-flow air filter, HDT stainless steel extractors, dual mild steel 2¼-inch pipes with two cats, two mufflers and a single rear resonator.

Stage 2:
Max power: 265 kW Redline / Cutout: 5500 RPM with 2 1/2" stainless steel pipes, washable high-flow air filter, HDT stainless steel extractors, dual stainless 2 1/2" pipes with two cats, two mufflers and a single resonator.

Stage 3:
Max power: 275 kW with modified airflow meter, high-flow cold air intake, high-flow air filter, HDT stainless steel extractors, dual mild steel 2¼-inch pipes with two cats, two mufflers and a single rear resonator.

Stage 4: Max power: 285 kW with modified airflow meter, high-flow cold air intake, high-flow air filter, HDT stainless steel extractors, dual stainless 2 1/2" pipes with two cats, two mufflers and a single resonator.
